Textbook Rental

Southeastern is the only university in the state of Louisiana where students rent their textbooks rather than buy them.  Textbook Rental provides Southeastern students an economical alternative to purchasing textbooks.  You can expect to save hundreds of dollars each semester on textbook costs alone!

 

The current rental fee for a course which has a rental book is $35 regardless of the number of textbooks required for a course.  Some courses do require the purchase of supplemental workbooks or manuals which are sold by the Follett University Bookstore.  Students interested in building a professional library do have the option of purchasing their rental textbooks.

 

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:

• Anyone can return your textbooks
• Your student ID is NOT required to return textbooks
• Store closes at 6:00PM during finals and the first business day following the last day of final exams
• Book Drop is available after hours and on weekends
• Dropped books are checked in the following business day

 

Books not available through the Textbook Rental System will need to be purchased.  These books can be purchased from the University Bookstore or other sources.  A listing of books that students will need to purchase is included in the Supplemental Book List (updated weekly).

Monday of Regular Fee Payment Deadlines

 

Return deadlines:

Without Fine

The first business day following the last day of final exams

With Fine ($7.50 per textbook)

The 2nd business day through 5th business day following the last day of final exams (Fall/Spring/Summer)

 

Any late book not returned by the 5th business day following the last day of final exams MUST BE PURCHASED at full retail price.
