Vera W. Thomason Health Center
Welcome to Southeastern Louisiana University Health Services!!! Students are our
specialty, and our goal is to promote healthy lifestyles. At the health center, we realize it
is difficult to focus on academics if you aren’t healthy. Our goal is to improve the health of
the student population in order to facilitate learning.
All students enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University who carry 4 or more hours
in the Spring and Fall Semesters and 2 or more hours in the Summer Semester pay a
minimal health fee during registration. This fee entitles the student to unlimited visits to
the Health Center during the semester in which they are enrolled. Campers enrolled in
Upward Bound during the summer are eligible for health services at the University Health
Center. Other campers are eligible based on the requirements outlined by the camp
sponsors.
All student health center services provided are confidential. All communications
between the patient and student health center providers are strictly confidential. A
confidential medical record is established and maintained for every patient who receives
care at the student health center. Information about any visit will not be given to a
parent, spouse, roommate, friend, university personnel, insurance company, etc., without
the students' written permission.
