Alpha Tau Eta

Requirements for Membership: Active membership is available to all current Southeastern Louisiana University students.  Members must have and maintain a 2.3 cumulative GPA, officers must have and maintain a 2.5 cumulative and semester GPA.

Meeting Information: The organization shall meet every other Thursday at 7:00 Pm in St. Tammany residence hall 4th floor lobby.

Amount of Dues:  $5.00 per month or $60 per year

Description of Organization:  The purpose of this service fraternity shall be to encourage and enact service activities and uphold the ideals of Service, Leadership, and Friendship; while at the same time promoting academic excellence and leadership skills throughout the university and surrounding community.

Description of Organization: Alpha Psi Omega is an honor society which recognized college-level theatre.  We run workshops, fundraisers, field trips, and events that revolve around theatre.

 

American Association of University Women - Southeastern Louisiana University

Description of Organizations:  Since its first meeting in 1881, AAUW has been a catalyst for change.  Today, with more than 100,000 branches, and 500 college and university partners, AAUW contributes to a more promising future and provides a powerful voice for women and girls- a void that cannot and will not be ignored.  AAUW is a chapter to a national Women's organization based on the purpose to unite undergraduates to promote issues of self-respect, self-esteem, and self-confidence and provide opportunities for intellectual growth and leadership development.  We also hope to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research on campus and in the local community.

American Marketing Association

Description of Organization:  A marketing organization that focuses on education and preparation of students for the marketing world.  Special events including speakers, monthly meetings, fundraisers, participation in charitable events, and educational seminars and luncheons.

 

American Society of Safety Engineers

Requirements for Membership: Enrollment full-time or part-time in an accredited college degree program intended to prepare you for practice in the safety profession or one of its relevant specialties; declaration of intent to enter the safety profession or one of its relevant specialties; not presently employed as a safety professional, or eligible for regular membership

Meeting Information: Monthly Technical Meetings with various speakers in the Safety Profession: Tuesdays at 7:30 PM in McClimans Hall Room 105

Description of Organization: ASSE provides such services as education, public affairs, government affairs, and involvement in national and international safety standards development, technical publications, and timely communications on safety advancements worldwide.

 

American Welding Society

Description of Organization:  The purpose of our ministry on this campus is to provide a Christian atmosphere that is conducive to each student's spiritual growth.  We provide inviting programs throughout each week as well as mission trips that are designed with the University student in mind.  Our main objective is to see each student grow spiritually and then to carry that outward onto the campus to impact the lives of countless others.

 

Best Buddies

Beta Alpha Psi

Description of Organization:  A national honors, professional, and service organization for accounting majors.

 

Beta Beta Beta Biological Sciences Honor Society

Description of Organization:  Beta Beta Beta is an honor and professional society for students of the biological sciences.  Its activities shall be designed to stimulate interest, scholarly attainment, and investigation in the biological sciences, and to promote the dissemination of information and new interpretations among students of the life sciences.

Description of Organization:  This organization shall attempt to unite undergraduate Biology students.  We will focus on several realms of Biology including academics, environmental awareness, our local natural world, and social interaction with other biologists.

Southeastern Nurses Christian Fellowship

Southeastern Rugby Club

Southeastern School of Nursing, American Assembly for Men in Nursing

Southeastern Secular Humanist and Agnostic Network

Description of Organization:  The purpose of this organization is to provide an environment for atheists, agnostics, humanists and other free thinkers to evaluate social, religious and political traditions using scientific inquiry and not supernatural explanations.  We hope to educate our campus and community by organizing activities, such as forums for discussion, guest speakers, debates, and documentary screenings.  We will demonstrate that morality can be meaningfully based on humanistic ideals, and we will be advocates for the separation of church and state.

Student Nurses Association

Requirements for Membership:  Students enrolled in the School of Nursing at Southeastern.  Membership may be extended beyond completion of the student undergraduate program for a period not to exceed six months with the privilege of courtesy membership.  A student who is a member of the National Student Nurses' Association, Inc. from another district or state may also be granted a courtesy membership.  Courtesy membership consists of participation in association activities and attending meetings with voice but no vote.

Meeting Information:  First and third Monday of each month at the Baton Rouge Campus conference room 109 at 11:00 AM
