Student Organizations at Southeastern are an integral part of campus life and one of the best opportunities for students to learn outside of the classroom. Students are provided with opportunities to gain experiences and knowledge from the classroom with the everyday experience of living and working in a society with people of varied cultures, interests, ideas and values.
With more than 100 student organizations, there's something for everyone.
What is a student organization?
A student organization is defined as a group of Southeastern students joined together in pursuit of a common purpose, which is in support of the mission, goals and core values of Southeastern, guided by a lawful constitution under the direction of chosen officers and officially recognized by the Division of Student Affairs.
How much does it cost to join an organization?
Most organizations have either monthly or annual dues. Cost also depends on things such as size of the organization, the organization's purpose, and the type of organization. Many of them are free!
What do I have to do to join an organization?
ASK! Let a representative know that you are interested or stop by the Office of Student Organizations and Strategic Initiatives to find out more information on any particular organization. Membership in some groups may only require a sign-up process while others, such as honor societies, may require an upperclassman classification and GPA. Each organization has a posted set of membership standards.
