Admission to ISAT
Requirements for Admission
Regular Admission
Successful applicants to the ISAT
program must have completed an undergraduate degree program and
have had at least 30 semester hours in any combination of
chemistry, computer science, industrial technology, mathematics, or
physics to enter the program. These applicants must have:
1.A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75
2. A combined Verbal and Quantitative Score on the Graduate Record Exam of at least 850
3. Applicants need to submit a letter of application
4.Letters of recommendation
5. Transcripts of previous undergraduate or graduate work.

Conditional Admission
Applicants who fail to meet any of
the above criteria could still be granted conditional admission
into the ISAT program. Conditional admission may be granted with
less than 30 semester hours in Chemistry, Computer Science,
Industrial Technology, Mathematics, and/or Physics. Candidates for
conditional admission will have a minimum cumulative grade point
average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate work attempted
or a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on all upper
division undergraduate coursework attempted. Candidates will submit
a letter of application, two letters of recommendation, and
transcripts of previous undergraduate or graduate work. Candidates
admitted under conditional status must maintain a minimum
cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 during their first 12 hours to
remain in the program.
Proficiencies
It is true that a most positive
characteristic of the ISAT programis the diversity of the
students. All students admitted to the program will be asked to
demonstrate proficiency in calculus and three of either chemistry,
physics, computer science or industrial technology during their
first year in the program. Proficiency will be comparable to the
level of knowledge of having passed an introductory undergraduate
course or courses in the area.
