About the Center for Student Excellence
Our Scope:
is to support the diverse population of students at Southeastern in the successful completion of a chosen program of study that leads to satisfying occupational paths and contributes to the economic growth of the Southeastern Region of Louisiana.
Our Mission:
is to work as a cohesive unit in partnership with the University and surrounding community to assist students in becoming active, responsible, and successful learners. We are committed to creating an environment which fosters student development and retention.
To fulfill this mission the Center for Student Excellence provides specific programming and resources that encourage students to develop the skills and strategies that enhance academic achievement and personal and professional growth.
Our Role:
is to provide Career Exploration and Academic Advising for students who need information for making life-impacting decisions. Learning Assistance in the form of tutoring and Supplemental Instruction promote academic success for our students.
Hours of Operation:
The Center for Student Excellence is open from 7:45am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday when the University is open for business.
The Lion’s Table is our evening Academic Support for Athletes Program. The hours of operation are from 6:00pm to 9:00pm Monday through Thursday during the Fall and Spring semesters. Please contact Nadia Douglas at 985/549-2227 for more information.
