Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education
The BS in Health and Physical Education is one of many undergraduate programs at Southeastern
leading to teacher certification, and our university has a long-standing history of
quality teacher education.
Southeastern’s teacher education program is nationally accredited by the National
Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
As part of this university-wide accreditation, teacher education degrees mustbe approved
by an NCATE-sponsored “specialized professional association” (SPA). Our NCATE SPA
is the National Association for Sport and Physical Education, and the BS in Health
and Physical Education is an approved NASPE program.
Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Fitness and Human Performance concentration)
The BS in Kinesiology (Fitness and Human Performance concentration) is approved by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. This professional organization’s Education Recognition Program provides its recognition to programs that meet established criteria in strength and conditioning.
