Book Fest 2008

The annual Louisiana Book Fest will be held in Baton Rouge this Fall with participants from SLWP.

The Louisiana Writing Project sponsored a writing contest for students in grades 1 - 12 last year, with prizes to be awarded at the State Museum in Baton Rouge in conjunction with the Louisiana Festival of the Book at 9 am on October 4. Immediately afterwards, each LAWP provides a Writing Enrichment Tent at the Festival where students are invited to engage in word play and creative language games sponsored by each Writing Project site. SLWP invites you all to the prize ceremony (where at least one SLWP TC's student will be proclaimed a state winner) and is looking for volunteers to work our booth at the tent for an hour or two between 10 am and 4 pm.
