(1) 2006 SOUTHEASTERN HOMECOMING COURT – Seven Southeastern Louisiana University students have been chosen as members of the 2006 Homecoming court and will reign over Homecoming festivities, Oct. 23-28.      HAMMOND – Fourteen Southeastern Louisiana University students have been chosen as members of the 2006 Homecoming queen and beau courts. The eight women and eight men will reign over Homecoming festivities Oct. 23-28.

     Chosen as members of the queen’s court were seniors Casandra Boyd of New Iberia, Whitney Clark of Baton Rouge, and April Field and Erin Wheeler of Amite; juniors Johanna Kelly of Chalmette and Erica Milligan of LaPlace; and sophomore Ericka Johnson of Destrehan.

     Members of the beau court are seniors Anderson “Marshon” Briggs and Donta Mills of Baton Rouge; Cantrelle Larkins Jr. and Aron Walker III of New Orleans; and juniors Christopher Barcelona II of Marrero, Christopher Boles of Slidell, and Myles Hannaman of Pride.

     The 2006 Homecoming queen and beau, the top junior or senior vote-getters in the recent online campus election, will be announced at halftime of the Homecoming football game when the Lions take on Stephen F. Austin on Homecoming Day, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. in Strawberry Stadium.

     The court will also participate in Homecoming festivities such as Gumbo Ya Ya on Oct. 25; the bonfire, pep rally and street dance on Oct. 27, and the Homecoming Day parade.

     Boyd, the daughter of Sheena Daniels Broussard and the late James Boyd, is a senior accounting major and is sweetheart of the Student Government Association. She is parliamentarian of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and has been listed on the university’s President’s and Dean’s List honor rolls.

     Clark, sweetheart of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, is the daughter of Ronnie and Paula Clark. She is majoring in nursing. She is also a member of Gamma Beta Phi honor and service society and the Student Nurses Association.

     Field, a general business major, is the daughter of Ricky and Alison Field. She is sweetheart of Phi Mu fraternity. She served as president of Phi Mu in 2005 and is the in-coming president of the Panhellenic Council.

     Wheeler is the daughter of Earl and Vera Wheeler. The biology major is sweetheart of the Black Student Union. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority and assistant director of programs and events for SGA.

     Kelly, the daughter of Michael and Eileen Kelly, is an accounting major. She is sweetheart of Gamma Beta Phi. She is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the Dream Team, and is an Orientation Leader.

     Milligan, a mass communication major, is the daughter of Stacy and Tami Mitchell. She is sweetheart of the Campus Activities Board, which she serves as secretary. She also is a member of the Ladies of the Green and Gold, Project PULL and the Black Student Union.

     Johnson is the daughter of Anjanette and Roger Joseph. She is a mass communication major and is sweetheart of Omega Psi Phi fratnernity. She is an SGA senator and appropriations chair and a member of the Izzy Dance ensemble.

     Briggs, a kinesiology major, is the son of Anderson Briggs Jr. and Donice M. Briggs. Beau of the senior class, he is assistant director of SGA programs and events. He is a member of the Phellas social club and the MANEiacs.

     Larkins, a social work major, is beau of Omega Psi Phi. He is the son of Cantrelle and Jeanette Larkins. He is president of the Black Student Union, vice president of Omega Psi Phi, and SGA associate chief justice.

     Mills, a business technology major, is the son of Donald White and Diae Mills Walton. He is beau of the Phellas. A member of SGA, he was selected “Member of the Year” by the Campus Activities Board and received the Freshman Pinnacle award.

     Walker, the son of Aron and Caroline Walker, is a human resource management major. He is the beau of the Student Government Association, which he serves as president. He is also the student representative on the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.

     Barcelona, a history major, is beau of Theta Phi Alpha fraternity. He is the son of Christopher Barcelona and Tina Barcelona. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, the Interfraternity Council and received the Spirit of Orientation Award as a 2005 Orientation Leader.

     Boles, the son of Kenneth and Kimberly Boles, is a biology/pre-chiropractic major. He is beau of Impact: Campus Outreach, which he serves as president, and Delta Tau Delta fraternity.

     Hannaman, a junior majoring in nursing, is beau of Phi Mu. He is the son of Glenda and Delma Hannaman. He is president of Theta Xi fraternity and a member of the Dream Team and the Interfraternity Council.
