HAMMOND – The Contemporary Art Gallery at Southeastern Louisiana University will feature
dual exhibitions during the summer.
The show will feature prints and paintings by California native Rosemary Goodell,
along with paintings by Ann Nelson, an artist currently working in New Orleans. Visitors
can also enjoy a ceramics exhibition with pieces from local and national artists,
coupled with designs created on campus as part of the Southeastern Louisiana University
Fine Art Collection.
Goodell, who studied at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston and received
her degree in painting from the University of California, Berkeley, has worked under
a Fulbright Memorial Fund Fellowship to study and travel in Japan. She has also received
grants from the Louisiana Division of the Arts.
Nelson, a native of Minneapolis, is a recent graduate of Tulane University's
Master of Fine Arts program. During her time in New Orleans, she has shown her work
in a variety of area galleries.
The Contemporary Art Gallery summer hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through
Thursday. The gallery is closed Friday through Sunday. For additional information,
