HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern Louisiana
University will offer a seminar on incentives for Louisiana businesses on Wednesday,
April 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Co-sponsored by the Livingston Economic Development Council, the free seminar
will be held at the Livingston Parish Library, located at 8101 U.S. Hwy 190 in Denham
Springs.
Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern SBDC, said tax incentive
programs are offered in Louisiana for new and existing companies that are expanding
and creating job opportunities. The incentives are typically in the form of sales
and use tax rebates, tax credits, and tax exemptions.
"This event will provide a detailed overview that will include program rules
and application processes for Enterprise Zone, Industrial Tax Exemption, Restoration
Abatement, Small Business Loan Guaranty, Quality Jobs, Modernization Tax Program,
EDAP Program/Training Grants and Performance Based Grants," she said. "The class is
open to small business owners, certified public accountants, bankers and potential
business owners interested in learning how to take advantage of the state's financial
incentives provided through the state."
There is no cost to attend the event; however, pre-registration is preferred,
as seating is limited. For more information, contact LSBDC Southeastern at 985-549-3831
