Macintosh System Requirements and Setup Instructions
If you are using a Macintosh computer to access Collage you will need to make sure that your system meets the Collage system requirements.
Supported Operating Systems
Collage Contributor view is supported on the following OS:
Apple Macintosh OS X Tiger 10.4
Minimum Client Hardware Requirements:
Monitor screen resolution of 1024x768 with 256 colors
Supported Browsers:
Firefox 1.0.6 (Download)
IMPORTANT! Pop-up blocker browser plug-ins may cause issues with the Collage Web clients. For best results, disable any pop-up blockers before using the Web clients.
Required Plug-ins:
Java plug-in (Download)
IMPORTANT: When installing the Java plug-in follow the instructions found in the readme file available at: http://javaplugin.sourceforge.net/Readme.html
Once you have installed the correct version of Firefox and the java plug-in, follow these steps to complete setup:
- Go to Finder | Applications | Utilities | Java.
NOTE: If Java is not listed here, you will need to install a supported Sun JVM before continuing.
- In the right pane, you will see an option for Java that includes the base version. For example, it may say "Java 1.4.2 ... in Settings". Select this option.
- On the General menu, select the box "Use Java console".
- Click Apply Now.
- Close any Firefox windows that may be open, and start a new Firefox session.
- Log into Collage.
- If you get a message about a certification choose "Always Trust".
- When Collage prompts you download the applet, it should also open the Java Console screen.
- If you do not see the Java Console Screen the java plug-in is not installed correctly.
- Install the plug-in again following the readme instructions then follow these steps again.
