Web Browsers

Southeastern's new Web site has changed dramatically, and some users may find that the site does not load properly in older Web browsers such as Internet Explorer 4 or Netscape Navigator 4.

The internet is always changing, growing and evolving, and new technologies are introduced all of the time. Some of those new technologies have been integrated into Southeastern's Web site to stay on the cutting edge and to properly support accessibility standards. To meet these new standards some new technologies and design concepts have been implemented that older browsers do not display correctly. For users of extremely old browsers such as Internet Explorer 4 or Netscape Navigator 4 we encourage you to upgrade to a newer version of your browser, or use an alternate browswer that the site supports.

Browser Timeline

To give you an idea of how old your browser might be, here is a timeline showing the release dates of three popular browsers. The current versions, as of Summer 2007 are shown in red.

How do I find my browser version?

For most situations, it is located under the Help Menu, and will be an entry labeled something like "About Netscape Navigator." See the screenshots below as an example:

Click on Help, on the Toolbar Menu, then "About Internet Explorer"

Then, a window will ususally open, displaying your browser version, in this case, it is Internet Explorer 6.

To get a new browswer, see the table below:
