District Literary Rally 2008


The Southeast District Literary Rally is a 100% web-based system. For your students to be eligible to compete, your school must become a member of both the Southeast Louisiana District Literary Rally Association and the Louisiana High School Rally Association.

The first step in the process is to register your school for the district rally. You will receive separate registration materials and instructions from the Louisiana High School Rally Association to register your school for the state rally. Follow the steps below to complete your school's district rally registration:

1. Click on the following website: https://wwws.selu.edu/litrally/schoolreg

2. Select your school's name from the drop-down box on the screen and press "Submit."

3. Enter or update your school's address and telephone number; select the appropriate Division; enter or update the Principal's name, the Rally Coordinator's name, home phone (in case of an emergency) and e-mail address; press "Submit." The Rally Coordinator's e-mail address is very important since much of our communication and instructions will be sent via e-mail.

4. Review the processed information on the screen. Press "Submit" if accurate, or "Back" to return to step 3 to make any needed changes. If those changes are now accurate on the screen, press "Submit."

5. Mail a check for the $35 district rally dues, made payable to Southeast Louisiana District Literary Rally Association, to:

After we receive your electronic registration and a check for your school's dues, we will e-mail you your user name and password so that you can enter your student names and other contestant information.

With our web-based rally system, you will register your students online for the rally competition again this year. Simply enter the following website address https://wwws.selu.edu/litrally/studentreg/. Choose your school's name from the pull-down menu and enter the unique password that was e-mailed to you, then click the "Submit" button. Keep your password in a safe, secure place because you will need it to access your student information as you make updates and changes. From this location you can add students to your roster, update information on currently registered students, view and print your roster, and check the amount of your final billing. Just follow the on-screen directions.

The deadline for entering contestant information will be Friday, February 29, 2008. The Rally Business Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday March 6, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. It is at this meeting that you will submit payment for your "extra" students and turn-in your signed foreign language verification form. You will receive more information about the details of the business meeting at a later date.
