Eligibility Rules for District Rally
District Literary Rally 2008

Students also must:
1. Test in no more than one District Literary Rally Event unless the second event is the Art Exhibit.
2. Not have Carnegie credit in the subject in which they are testing. Exceptions include:
a. Schools offering courses on an alternating yearly or semester basis may enter students who have completed Carnegie credits in those courses if the student completed the course during the immediate preceding semester/year.
b. If a course is taught in the spring, a student with credit in that course may not compete under the alternating basis exception.
c. A student repeating a course for a higher grade may not participate while a student repeating due to failure is eligible to participate.
d. A student who is taking a Carnegie unit in a school other than the school on whose annual report he/she is reported, may test in that course for the school in which he/she is enrolled.
3. Meet the requirements for the Carnegie unit in the setting of the SLDLRA member school i.e. a student taking a university-based course may not participate, but a student enrolled in a correspondence course may participate.

5. Not have represented a school more than once in the same event. Exception: Spelling.
6. Students should not seek advantage by competing in events for which advanced credit has been earned i.e., competing in Physical Science after having earned credit in Chemistry.
7. Any student currently enrolled-or having been enrolled-in a course during the current school year will be eligible to participate in the District Rally competition.
