What is LACRAO?
Louisiana Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (LACRAO) is the unifying and coordinating agency among the recruiters, admissions staff, records and registration staff, and enrollment managers for all post secondary institutions in the state of Louisiana. For more information on LACRAO visit www.lacrao.org.
Why Zones?
The Recruiting Services Committee of LACRAO has our state divided into six zones. The Greater Baton Rouge Area, River Parishes and part of the Northshore constitute zone three. Your zone coordinator works with the local high school counselors to schedule college/career fairs in their zones.
Each Fall LACRAO coordinates a zone system during the peak of the recruiting season to aid both the high schools and the recruiters. By allowing the zone system, colleges are able to visit with more high school students and parents across the state. Utilizing the zone system helps ensure that more colleges and universities are available for the scheduled programs. Each zone is allocated from two to three weeks to schedule all programs for the fall (August - December). Programs are not zoned for the Spring (January - May).
Interested in hosting a college/career program?
Here you will find detailed information about what is involved in a college program, how to determine if you need a program, whom to invite, and recommendations and requirements for hosting a program. You will also be able to complete the preference form to reserve your spot in the zone for the next fall recruiting season.
What are Articulation Workshops?
Once a year, at the beginning of your school year (typically the end of August or beginning of September) LACRAO hosts an Articulation Workshop for high school counselors. Regardless if you are a seasoned veteran or a first-time high school counselor, we strongly encourage you to attend. Each year the workshop host rotates among the colleges and universities located within the zone.
This one-day workshop is designed with your needs and questions in mind. In a typical workshop, you will receive updates concerning the ACT exam, financial aid, admission requirements, and other critical information you will need as you begin your school year. Be sure to bring a cart or luggage to carry all of your information home with you, because you're sure to be overloaded once you receive the packets from each college and university in Louisiana.
The 2011 Articulation Workshop will be held at Southern Baton Rouge on Thursday, August 25. Details will be sent from host insitution.
NEW College Fair Automation Details:
LACRAO is very excited to launch a trial contract for the 2010 recruiting season with College Fair Automation. This opportunity will create a faster and more accurate way for Louisiana institutions to collect your students' information. Students and family members can register online before the scheduled college/career fair. By registering online in
advance, students and family members will save time filling out the information cards at each college of interest and spend more time asking questions with college representatives. Students will fill out the online form and print out their barcode to bring with them to the LACRAO college/career fairs. LACRAO institutions will then scan the barcode to capture the student/family contact information. Counselors can track who and how many students are registered from your school by clicking here!
Students and family members go here to register and print a barcode:
