Science & Technology students honored at Southeastern

     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University's College of Science and Technology recognized students for outstanding academic performance at the college's honors convocation held May 7.
     In addition, the college and the Southeastern Alumni Association recognized Stuart "Vint" Massimini Sr. of Harahan as its distinguished alumnus of the year. The president and chief executive officer of Gulf Engineering for the past 13 years, he is a 1983 graduate of Southeastern, where he received his degree in industrial management technology. In his career with Gulf Engineering, he has served as vice president with responsibility for sales management and negotiations between the firm and its manufacturers. In his current position, he is in charge of general operations of the $20 million company and its 160 employees and handles all corporate legal matters, governmental affairs, manufacturing contracts and union negotiations.
     Gulf Engineering is a family-owned business started in 1924 in New Orleans, providing repair services for turbines, pumps and other industrial equipment. One of the top 100 private companies in New Orlans, it currently serves many of the petrochemical and power plants along the Mississippi River.

Denham Springs: Judson W. Clark II, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Computer Science; and Thomas Chavers, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Industrial Technology – Bachelor's Degree.
St. James Parish
Paulina: Danny J. Murray, Outstanding Senior in Industrial Technology – Associate's Degree.
St. Tammany Parish
Madisonville: Julian B. Williams, Outstanding Senior in Engineering Technology.
Tangipahoa Parish
Hammond: Rajendra Shrestha, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Biological Sciences; Bishwas Ghimire and Sumit Libi, Outsanding Graduating Seniors in Physics; Bijay Bhattarai, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Chemistry; Sonam Lama and Bimal Kunwor, Outstanding Graduating Seniors in Mathematics.
Kentwood:  Rodric Dykes, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment.

2) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (St. Tammany) - Southeastern Louisiana University's College of Science and Technology honored its distinguished students at the college's annual honors convocation. Julian Williams of Madisonville received the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in Engineering Technology.


3) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (Tangipahoa) - Southeastern Louisiana University's College of Science and Technology honored its distinguished students at the college's annual honors convocation. Residents from Tangipahoa Parish who were recognized as outstanding graduating seniors included, from left, Rajendra Shrestha, Biological Sciences; Rodric Dykes, Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment; Bijay Bhattarai, Chemistry; Bimal Kunwor and Sonam Lama, Mathematics; Bishwas Ghimire and Sumit Libi, Physics.
