Music instructor to perform clarinet recital

HAMMOND – Jackie McIlwain, Southeastern Louisiana University lecturer of clarinet, will perform
a recital on Wednesday, March 20. The free performance is scheduled for 6 p.m. in
Pottle Auditorium.
Performing with McIlwain on piano will be University of Southern Mississippi
music educator and accompanist Eun-Hee Park. The program includes works by Rabaud,
Sierra and a Sonata for clarinet and piano by Francis Poulenc.
McIlwain joined the Southeastern faculty in August. She is also an adjunct professor
at the University of Southern Mississippi. McIlwain has played with the Mississippi
Symphony Orchestra, Meridian Symphony Orchestra, Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and
Murfreesboro Philharmonic Orchestra in Tennessee, among others. Her doctoral research
at Florida State University focused on musicians' injuries, covering causes, diagnosis,
prevention and treatment.
