HAMMOND –Southeastern Louisiana University has updated its policy regarding tailgating that now allows groups to provide their own music.
The new policy will go into effect this Saturday (Oct. 13) when the Southeastern Lions take on Northwestern State University in Strawberry Stadium.
Tailgaters are asked to turn speakers inward to their own location and to keep music volume at a reasonable level. As tailgating is intended to be a family-friendly activity, profanity in lyrics is prohibited.
Student groups that intend to participate in the tailgating experience are asked to sign an agreement with the Division of Student Affairs.
"Our intent is to provide an enjoyable Lion tailgating experience for all," said Governmental and Public Affairs Director Erin Cowser. "We made this policy update at the request of several tailgating groups in hopes that Lion tailgating will be an even more fun and festive environment for everyone."
