HAMMOND The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University will host a risk management seminar for small businesses on Jan. 27.
Offered in conjunction with the U.S. Small Business Administration and Louisiana Economic Development, the seminar will help businesses learn how to be better insurance consumers, said Sandy Summers, SBDC assistant director.
“In Louisiana, where disasters are sometimes a way of life, small business owners face even greater risks than the rest of the country,” Summers said. “In this free seminar, participants will hear from industry experts.”
Topics include questions that should be asked about current business insurance, when and when not to buy insurance to manage business risk, and underutilized types of insurance to protect business, Summers said.
The seminar will be held at the Southeast Louisiana Business Center located at 1514 Martens Drive in Hammond from 10 a.m. to noon.
For more information or to register, contact the SBDC, 985-549-3831 or visit www.lsbdc.org.
