Southeastern LSBDC offers free classes for business startups

     HAMMOND The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University, along with area partners, will offer a seminar "Starting and Financing Your Business Idea" at several locations throughout the north shore.
     "This workshop is highly recommended for all individuals interested in determining the feasibility of their business idea, those planning to start or who have recently started a small business, seeking a small business loan, or wanting to learn more about business planning," said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern SBDC.
     Topics will include entrepreneurship readiness, writing a business plan, sources of funds for start-up and expansion, small business resources, and required licenses.
     The schedule of classes is as follows:

  • January 10, 2012 - Hammond - Southeast Louisiana Business Center
  • February 22, 2012 - Mandeville - Southeastern St. Tammany Center
  • March 6, 2012 - Slidell - East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce

Scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., all classes are free, but pre-registration is preferred. Additional classes will be offered in Bogalusa, Walker and Greensburg in the coming months.
