HAMMOND The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University,
along with the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce, will host a seminar entitled
“De-Mystifying Email and Social Media Marketing.”
The free event will be held Feb. 16 at the Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology
Center at 9261 Florida Boulevard in Walker from 1 to 3 p.m.
“Finding inexpensive and effective email marketing can build key successes for
a business,” said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern Small Business
Development Center. “The seminar will explore the basics of what email marketing is,
why it works so well, how it easily integrates with social media sites, and how to
use it in business planning and marketing strategy to achieve special goals.”
Participants will learn how to create email campaigns that get results, get emails
opened and read, write compelling subject lines and copy, interpret email campaign
results and more Summers said.
The seminar is suitable for all experience levels and anyone interested in learning
more about email marketing for businesses, groups, and organizations. Summers said
participants do not need to bring a laptop, but are welcome to do so.
The class will be instructed by Amy Tinsley-Olivieri, regional development director
for Constant Contact. Summers said, “Amy is a dynamic speaker who travels throughout
the Southeast to educate businesses on ways to stay in contact with their customer
base through effective and affordable marketing technologies.”
