Organizational communication program accepting applications for summer and fall semesters

     HAMMOND Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Languages and Communications is accepting applications for graduate studies in organizational communication for the summer and fall semesters.
     The two-year master’s program focuses on internal and external communications in organizations.
     “The program features classes in training assessment and development, organizational culture and diversity issues, ethical and legal issues, theory, new technologies, campaigns, public relations, and interpersonal communication,” said Claudia McCalman, graduate coordinator. “Concentrations available in the program include public relations, news media, health communication and sociology.”
     McCalman said to be considered for admission students must have earned a bachelor degree in any area of study, have Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores with a writing section minimum of 3.5, and a college GPA minimum of 2.5.
     “Students can enter the program in the summer, spring or fall, have flexible classes in the evening, and personalized education and career building skills training throughout the program,” McCalman added. “Graduates of this program have gone on to work for companies such as Microsoft, Sears, NASA, Nielson Corporation, Lamar Advertising and Subsea Solutions, among others. Some have also continued their education earning doctoral degrees.”
