HAMMOND Southeastern Louisiana University’s Division of Extended Studies is offering the ACT Preparation Course this spring at its regional locations.
The five-week offerings will be held at Southeastern’s main campus, the Livingston Literacy and Technology Center, 9261 Florida Boulevard in Walker, and the St. Tammany Center, 21454 Koop Drive in Mandeville.
Designed to assist high school students in developing skills to improve ACT scores, the prep course will emphasize mathematics and English.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for students who want help with their math and English skills,” said Tom Dawsey, recruiting and marketing manager. “Our instructors also do a great job of giving students tips on test-taking skills that can help improve their scores.”
The courses in Hammond and Walker will be taught by Amy Gibson, will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., and will cost $250 with all materials included. The Hammond course will be held Mondays beginning Feb. 27 through March 26, while the Walker course will be held Thursdays, beginning March 8 through April 12.
Taught by Eugenie Martin and Patricia Edmiston, the Mandeville ACT course will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays beginning March 8 through April 12 at a cost of $275, including the textbook.
