Southeastern students, faculty inducted into Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society

     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University inducted 73 undergraduate and graduate students into its chapter of the prestigious national honor society, Phi Kappa Phi.
     At the chapter’s annual induction banquet April 14, nursing student Leslie V. Adams of Denham Springs was named the winner of the Southeastern Phi Kappa Phi Endowed Scholarship. Annie Doucet of Raceland was named the Phi Kappa Phi National Fellowship Applicant and the university’s outstanding honor student.
     Recognized as Outstanding Juniors were Mary M. Tate of Franklinton, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Erica P. Morse of Loranger, College of Education and Human Development; Kristy S. Mcdaniel of Holden, Division of General Studies; Ashlyn E. Ludwig of Denham Springs, College of Nursing and Health Sciences; and Shelby L. Miller III of Kentwood, College of Science and Technology. Michael A. Aucoin Jr. of Metairie received the Outstanding Freshman Award.
     The honors organization also recognized several members of the Southeastern faculty and alumni. Inducted were Kent Neuerburg, head of the Honors Program; Lynette Lawrence Ralph, assistant director of the Sims Memorial Library; and Mary Kaye Ramsey, assistant professor of English. Alumni inducted were David G. Kinnison, Patricia L. Macaluso and Michael J. Minkus, all of Hammond.
     To be considered for membership in the organization, a student must be in the top 10 percent of the senior or graduate class or a second semester junior in the top 7.5 percent of his or her class. This year’s student initiates into Phi Kappa Phi are:
