Faculty
To use the Turnitin service for your classes, you must fill out the online registration form. You will receive an email notifying you when your account has been set up.
Instructors should add information which has been distributed via campus correspondence to the course syllabus regarding the use of the Turnitin.com service.
Faculty may also consult the Southeastern Louisiana University General Catalogue, Academic Regulations and The Faculty Handbook, Part IV, Section O, Academic Integrity.
In order to use this service you must:
- Log into your account.
- Create at least one class before you plan to submit papers to review. You can create as many classes as you wish. If you plan to only upload the occasional student paper, a single class may be adequate. If you plan to routinely submit a large number of papers to the service, you may want to create a class account for each section that you teach. This will help you manage the papers. When you create a class account, you will receive a class ID number. You will need to create an enrollment password.
- Determine whether the students will submit the papers directly to the service (recommended) or whether you submit electronic copies of the papers. If students are to submit their own assignments, you need to distribute the class ID and enrollment password to your students.
- Within each class, you need to create one or more assignments. In some cases you may want to create more than one online assignment category for an in-class submission (e.g., Research Paper Draft, Research Paper Final Draft, etc.)
