Indexes and Databases
Biological Abstracts-- Indexes and abstracts life science literature; provides some links to full-text articles.
Chemical Abstracts -- Please see Scifinder Scholar.
Chemical and Chemical Engineering Reference Books-- Provides electronic versions of 16 chemistry reference sources.
SciFinder Scholar -- Indexes and abstracts international journals, patents, patent families, technical reports, books, conference proceedings and dissertations for all areas of chemistry and chemical engineering; also includes SSM. Software must be downloaded and installed on the PC in order to use the database.
Internet Sites
Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry -- Contains over 40,000 pages of toxicological information on over 150 compounds.
American Chemical Society -- Website of the American Chemical Society.
Atomic and Molecular Data -- A set of databases. From the Nuclear Data Section of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Austria.
Elements, Visual -- From the Chemical Society, this site provides a visual interpretation of the table of elements.
Integrated Spectral Data Base System for Organic Compounds -- This National Institute of Materials and Chemical Research in Japan site contains full spectra and, in many cases, peak assignments for 30,000 compounds, including about 19,600 mass spectra, 11,000 13C NMR, 13,500 proton NMR, 47,300 IR, 3,500 Raman and 2,000 ESR spectra.
