New Reports and Database Released by the U.S. Government


On 9/24, the Federal Bureau of Investigation released the 2006 edition of its annual statistical report, Crime in the United States.  This publication can be found online at:

The National Center for Education Statistics unveiled its College Navigator database on 9/26.  This is an upgrade and redesign of its college search engine formerly known as College Opportunities Online (COOL).  The new application uses data collected by the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and the Office of Postsecondary Education. New features include: a favorites menu with side-by-side comparison, the ability to save your search, an export of your search results, an interactive map, and the ability to see your search criteria at all times and modify your search without starting over.  College Navigator can be found at:
