Lending Policies


  • Eligible Borrowers
    NOTE: IDS must be presented in person by the ID holder to charge library materials

  • Renewal Policies
    • Twice ONLINE if renewed before the due date
    • Unlimited in-house, but items & Southeastern ID have to be presented in person for renewal
    • Items may be renewed unless another patron has placed a "Recall" or "Hold" on the item

      1. 2 or more OVERDUE items
      2. FINES of $50 or more
      3. MAXIMUM number of CHECKOUTS reached

    • 25 cents per day, per item--Maximum $15


  • Overdue Items--overdue 60 days or longer & not returned

    • Current REPLACEMENT cost of book +
    • $20 PROCESSING fee


  • Overdue Items--returned undamaged after being overdue 60 days or longer
    • $15 OVERDUE fine +
    • $10 PROCESSING fee


  • Reserve Materials


Holds and Recalls


  • HOLDS may be placed on items currently checked out by another patron so that the requestor may obtain the item upon its return
  • RECALLS may be placed on items that are overdue, have been renewed, or have been checked out by faculty/staff for 28 days or more
  • Patrons receiving RECALL NOTICES should return the items within 7 days
  • Patrons placing HOLDS and RECALLS will be notified when the item is returned


Returning Materials


The general circulating collection materials must be returned to the Circulation Desk bookdrop or the outside bookdrop to be properly discharged. Reserve material should be returned to the Reserve Desk staff or the outside bookdrop when the library is closed. If materials are not returned to the bookdrops or the Reserve Desk staff, the borrower will be responsible for all overdue fees accrued until the item is properly returned and discharged.

Media and Government Document materials should be returned to the department where they were checked out. Media materials should not be returned to the bookdrop.
