Direction for Success
Kelly Bratton has followed his mother, Sissie Bratton (’72), and grandmother, Norma Dupont Milton (’45 and ’65) to Southeastern. As a high school valedictorian, he had many scholarship offers and many schools ready to welcome him with open arms, but he had his eye on Southeastern’s Department of Accounting.
“Kelly attended the annual Scholarship Showcase for high achieving high school seniors,” said Sissie Bratton, who is administrative secretary in the Department of Management. “After meeting with so many of the university’s faculty members at the Showcase, we were extremely comfortable with his decision.
“Kelly always says he likes the feeling of being able to talk to his professors whenever he needed to, that they are always available,” said Sissie. “That’s a big plus in my book as well. I see that great faculty-student reaction throughout campus. And when I interact with parents, I tell them that when a student knows they have somewhere they can go for help, it means everything. It gives them direction for success. Southeastern has that.”
