Graduate Assistantships

Southeastern's Graduate School offers an excellent assistantship program for graduate students. Not only do graduate assistants receive a stipend, they also receive full waiver of all in-state and out-of-state tuition. Southeastern's Sims Memorial Library provides excellent library resources, including helps such as annotated bibliographies of encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, and books, indexes and databases and websites for a variety of subject areas, compiled by Southeastern librarians. In addition to Sims Memorial Library, Southeastern offers a number of research facilities, including:

  • The Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies
    The Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies preserves and promotes the history and cultures of Louisiana's Florida Parishes, southwestern Mississippi and surrounding areas through scholarly research, lectures and publishing.   • Southeastern Social Science Research Center
    The Southeastern Social Science Research Center provides enhanced social science research opportunities for faculty and students. The Southeastern Social Science Research Center is a cooperative endeavor of the Department of History and Political Sciences and the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice and offices social science research services to Southeastern's surrounding community.  More info on the Southeastern Social Science Research Center>>

  • The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Research Program
    The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Research Program is dedicated to the restoration and stabilization of the western Lake Pontchartrain Basin ecosystem. The interdisciplinary research team includes faculty and graduate students from Southeastern's departments of Biological Sciences, History and Political Sciences, and General Business as well as faculty from Louisiana State University and the University of New Orleans.  More info The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Research Program>>

  • Turtle Cove Environmental Research Station
    Turtle Cove Environmental Research Station is a field research and educational facility located in Lake Pontchartrain estuarine ecosystem. More info on Turtle Cove>>

  • Small Business Development Center
    Southeastern's Small Business Development Center provides a vital link to the community, assisting in the economic development of the state's fastest growing region through a variety of services including research on a variety of issues for business and government.
