Overview of the program
Curriculum in Elementary Education PreK-3 leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science develops effectiveness in communication, leadership, and other skills necessary for teaching in the area of early childhood education. The curriculum requires a solid background of child development and instructional methodology for PK-3 students as well as essential content courses in math, science, and the humanities. A strong emphasis is placed on relevant field experiences throughout the program. Teacher candidates are required to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to have a positive impact on student achievement in Grades PK-3.
Number of semester hours range from 129-130.
