Special Admissions Program
If you are ready to get a taste of college while you’re still in high school, Southeastern can make it happen. There are three different programs that allow high school students to take college courses and receive credit before graduating from high school.
Southeastern Scholars Program
As a Southeastern Scholar, you can begin your college experience at Southeastern during the summers and throughout the school year while you are still attending high school. To qualify for the program, you must meet the following criteria:
- ACT Composite of 24 or higher
- Cumulative High School GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Recommendation by high school principal
Tuition scholarships are awarded for part-time enrollment to qualified students. Students are responsible for any additional fees.

Gifted and Talented Program
Southeastern offers a program for gifted-talented youths in high school who desire to take courses on a more advanced level in a college-oriented environment. To qualify for the program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Cumulative High School GPA of 3.0 or higher, AND
- ACT Composite of 22 or 23, OR
- Rank in the 95th percent on other standardized tests, OR
- Grade placement at the 12th grade level or higher on standardized test
- Written recommendations from school counselor and a teacher (letters must accompany application)
All fees regularly charged to part-time students apply to the Gifted and Talented Program.

Early Admissions Program
Early admission to Southeastern will be allowed if you meet the following criteria:
- ACT Composite of 25 or higher
- GPA of 3.0 or better during six semesters of high school
- Recommendation by high school principal
Upon earning 24 semester hours of college credit, you may be granted a high school diploma by the appropriate Board of Education.
