Nursing major Luke Holloway chose Southeastern because “I knew it had one of the best nursing programs in the South,” he said. During past summers, he has worked at a camp for developmentally challenged children. The children, he said, “have touched my life. I want to be a special education nurse. Studying nursing at Southeastern is going to help me do that. I believe that Southeastern is definitely a place where you can succeed – academically, socially and in countless other ways. Degree Programs
Southeastern is the fourth largest university in Louisiana, offering over 65 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. All of Southeastern's graduate programs and 97% of undergraduate programs are nationally accredited.
Our classes are small in size, interaction is high, and faculty, not graduate students, teach 99% of our classes. At Southeastern you'll hear students say "You're a name, not a number", and it is true. Students get to know their professors, and undergraduate students have the opportunity to work closely with them on research projects. Our faculty are very active in their discipline -- the majority of them hold the highest degree in their field and many are nationally recognized!
Honors & Study Abroad Programs
Southeastern's Honors program offers an alternative academic track in all departments and majors, and our Study Abroad program allows our students to explore the globe! Students have the opportunity to study in places such as Costa Rica, Germany, France, Italy, London, Scotland, Jamaica, and Austria.
