Criteria for Admission
To be fully admitted to Southeastern, first time freshmen who are graduates of a state approved high school must meet the following criteria:
Students from a state approved Louisiana High School:
1. Completion of the Regents High School Core Curriculum
*(Regents' Core same as TOPS core, See Regents' Core listed below)
AND
2. Have one of the following criteria met:
ACT composite of at least 20
OR
High school rank in upper 50% of the graduating class
OR
High school cumulative grade point average of 2.0/4.0
AND
3. Require no more than one developmental course
*(see definition of developmental courses below)

Students from a non Louisiana state approved High school or Out of State High School:
1. Meet the same criteria as students who graduated from a Louisiana public or private high school as listed above.
OR
2. Meet ALL of the following criteria:
- ACT composite of at least a 20, AND
- High school cumulative grade point average of 2.0/4.0, AND
- High school rank in the upper 50% of the graduation class
OR
3. Have an ACT composite of at least a 23.
AND
4. Have no more than one developmental course requirements.

Students with an ACT Math component score of 18 or below will need Developmental Math. Students with an ACT English component score of 17 or below will need Developmental English. Contact the Office of Testing for information regarding the Compass Exam 985-549-3897.

Students from a state-approved Home School Program or receiving a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
1. Have an ACT composite of at least 23.
Note: Students who do not meet one of more of these criteria MAY be admissible through an alternate path. Submit application materials and then contact an admissions counselor to discuss other possible options.
