John Reis of Mandeville produces “Northshore News,” a student newscast honored by the Society for Professional Journalists. “We work hard to bring viewers compelling, meaningful and timely news,” he said. Chris Coleman of Denham Springs took first place for a story on a standout Southeastern softball pitcher who licked a serious injury, while Chris Guagliardo of Hammond won for his single camera taping of a Southeastern-Tulane football game at the Superdome.
“It feels great to have an idea for a story and then be able to make that idea come to life,” Coleman said.
