Why Support Southeastern?
There are many reasons Southeastern alumni “give back” to their alma mater. Some see it as a reciprocal action for the high-quality education they have received; others give so that future generations of Southeastern students have the opportunity to attend; still others take pride in Southeastern’s cutting-edge research and scholarship and contribute to projects that will benefit all of society and allow us to hold true to our promise of leading the educational, economic and cultural development of southeast Louisiana. It is only with the loyal support of Southeastern Alumni that we are able to continue our standards of academic excellence.
Southeastern is a state assisted institution with only a portion of our operating budget being satisfied through state funds and tuition. A crucial part of the remainder comes through donations from loyal alumni and friends. These funds provide support for facilities, equipment, student aid, the recruitment and retention of outstanding professionals, and for centers and programs that would not be possible otherwise.
