American Marketing Association

Description of Organization:  A professional organization that will provide those interested in marketing with skills in networking, knowledge of current issues, and a competitive advantage in our business world today.

 

 

American Welding Society

Requirements for Membership: Any students at SLU who are enrolled in the department of Industrial Technology

Meeting Information:  First Tuesday/Wednesday of every month in the IT Student Lounge (Anzalone Hall)

Description of Organization:  The purpose of AWS is to promote industry values to students at SLU while giving them an opportunity to experience industry in action.

 

 

Association of Computing Machinery

Description of Organization:  ACM is an educational and scientific society uniting the world's computing educators, researchers, and professionals to insipire dialogue, share resources and address the field's challenges, ACM supports the professional growth of its members by providing opportunities for life-long learning, career development, and professional networking.

 

 

Biology Graduate Student Organization

Description of Organization:  BGSO is an organization for all the Biology graduate students to bring in speakers, take place in social functions, and to have a good relationship between co-workers.

 

The Biology Club

Requirements for Membership:  Members must be undergraduate students majoring in Biology currently enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Meeting Information:  Meetings will be held bimonthly at a date and time deemed appropriate for the majoring of members and officers in a room in the new Biology Building.

Amount of Dues:  $5 per year

Description of Organization:  This organization shall attempt to unite undergraduate Biology students.  We will focus on several realms of Biology including academics, environmental awareness, our local natural world, and social interaction with other biologists.

German Club

Public Reations Student Society of America (PRSSA)

The Professional Association for Design

Description of Organization:  The Professional Association for Design is the oldest and largest membership association for professionals engaged in the discipline, practice and culture of desgining.  The SLU chapter forms a community among SLU Digital Design Majors that encourages exploration and growth as a designer and offers workshops, events and assistance in preparing for a future as a graphic designer.

 

 

SLU Association of Family and Consumer Sciences

Description of Organization:  A student service organization involving careers in working with children and families in business and goverment agencies, fashion merchandishing, nutrition, and teaching secondary vocational FCS.  The goal of this organization is to affect the optimal well being of students and individuals and allow FCS to become recognized to potential and current students of Southeastern.

Description of Organization:  Southeastern Sociological Association is to educate the student body and community and different social issues.

 

 

Southeastern Education Association for Students

Requirements for Membership:  Seeking a degree in education, enrollment at SLU in the College of Education and Human Development

Meeting Information:  Alternating Wednesdays and Thursdays in the Teacher Education Building, 2:30 - 3:30pm, 5-6 months per year

Amount of Dues:  $20 new membership (includes a t-shirt); $10 per year to renew membership

Description of Organization:  SEAS promotes quality education, and encourages professional development, attributes and dispositions.  The association will render service to the department, college, University and the community.

 

 

Student Nurses Association

Description of Organization:  Group of student nurses organized to aid the development of the student nurse as a health professional and to contribute to health care improvement of all people.
