The purpose of the Leadership Southeastern team is to help students develop their full leadership potential by instilling in them the skills necessary to present information in a logical, informative, exciting and educational way.  The Leadership Southeastern team will learn skills that will be beneficial as a college student and as a professional in their field of choice.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership Southeastern students will assist during the Summer Orientation Program in order to inform incoming freshmen and their parents about the benefits of attending Cub Camp.  In addition, members of the Leadership Southeastern team will be required to participate in and/or facilitate small groups, present an education session at the Southeastern Leadership Conference, and participate in other leadership opportunities.  Other leadership opportunities include but are not limited to attending a President’s Cabinet meeting, a faculty senate meeting, and a Hammond Chamber of Commerce meeting, and visiting with the President of Southeastern to discuss possible ways to engage the student body.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Attend bi-monthly meetings
• Present an educational session at the Southeastern Leadership Conference
• Assist with various leadership programs in conjunction with the Office of Student Organizations and Strategic Initiatives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

There are a variety of qualities that a Leadership Southeastern student must have.  We are looking for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who possess the following:  the ability to work in a team environment; leadership potential; positive communication skills; a desire to work with students, parents, faculty and staff; integrity; problem solving skills; good academic standing (2.5 cumulative);  and good disciplinary standing.

NOTE:  All undergraduate students selected must achieve a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the end of the Spring semester and Fall semester.
