About Student Development
The Office of Student Development, located in room 202 of the Student Union, houses the staff of the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. The office is responsible for the following policies: alcohol advertising guidelines; alcohol consumption regulations; alcohol and home football game policies; campus sign policies and approvals; drug-free schools and community act policy; faculty and staff checklist for off campus visitations; food policy; off campus expected behaviors policy; political activity at football games; public speech policy; and registration of activities guidelines.
In addition it also provides the following services: alcohol use approval; campus sign approvals; food use permission; lyceum arts and lectures funding; off campus residence waivers; off campus visitation approval; registration of activities; student affairs academic enhancement funds; and the daily operations; and the University’s Electronic Events Calendar.
The Student Development unit of the Division of Student Affairs is comprised of the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, the Campus Activities Board, Leadership Development, Multicultural/International Student Affairs, Recreational Sports and Wellness, Student Government Association, Student Organizations and Greek Life, and the Student Union.
The staff of Student Development create personal developmental opportunities for all students through its wide range of programs which are designed to enhance the quality of student life. We serve as educators outside the classroom, helping students prepare for their lives after college.
