Adobe Illustrator Intro-STC Instructor: Ms. Holly Syrdal Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: Customize and use tools for selecting parts of images. You will learn to use layers and to apply layer effects and filters for creating special effects. Additionally, you will use painting tools and blending modes to enhance the appearance of your design. Finally, you will save images in both print and web formats.

Digital Photography-Beginner
Digital Photography-Intermediate *Prerequisite: Beginning class or self-taught This class will build on the basics of composition, lighting, posing. It will cover camera and technical skills including how to adjust ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture (F-Stop) for different lighting conditions and how to shoot in manual mode with better results. In addition it will answer questions, such as: What is depth of field? How and when do I use fill flash?
Adobe Photoshop For Photography-Beginner
Adobe Photoshop For Photography-Intermediate Students will be learning about advanced image adjustments and advanced tools. They will also learn how to add special effects to images. Topics, such as restoration and advanced filters will also be covered. As an added bonus, the instructor will address the topic or "retouching." Students willl learn how to "retouch" blemishes and enhance images, for a more professional look.

ACT Test Preparation The maximum number of students per session is 15. If paid and registered one week prior to start of class students will receive ACT prep books at no additional costs.
GMAT Test Prep Course - Postponed until new dates become available.This course is being re-designed to help students prepare for the GMAT. This is an instructor lead course. Students will receive assignments to work on outside of class. Students should be prepared to take a preassessment of skills to determine if they have the prerequisite skills to be successful in the class. Supplemental materials will be available before the start of class to ensure students are able to derive the most from the classroom instruction. Simulated GMAT practice testing will be required both in class and outside of class.
The course will cover the three main parts of the GMAT Test: Analytical Writing Assessment, Quantitative and Verbal. Students will also practice the simple steps to writing a quality analysis including: organizing, developing and presenting your ideas, and providing relevant and supporting details. Math skills including Algebra, Geometry, and data sufficiency problems will also be reviewed. The verbal prep section will review reading for comprehension, proper grammar, sentence structure, and critical reasoning. In addition, test taking strategies such as: eliminating the wrong answer, how to guess and how much time to spend on each question will be covered. Practice tests will be administered to provide areas of focus for students.
Required Book: The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 12th Edition. The books as well as the GMAT practice questions are requirements in order to be prepared for the test. *The cost of the book, The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 12th Edition, is included in the registration fee, if registered for all modules and full payment is received two weeks prior to the start date of the first class.
Notarial Review Course
Ronda M. Gabb founded the law firm of Ronda M. Gabb & Associates, LLC “A Louisiana Estate Planning & Elder Law Practice”, with offices in Mandeville and Metairie. Ronda often lectures to professional and community groups regarding estate planning and edler law. Her law practice is entirely devoted to Estate Planning, including Wills, Trusts, Successions and Administrations, Elder Law, Medicaid, Special Needs and Life Care Planning issues. Ronda graduated from Tulane Law School and is presently working on her LL.M. in Taxation.
Ronda is a Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist through the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. She is also a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Governor’s Elder Law Task Force, and the Northshore Estate Planning Council.
Notarial Course Review STC Instructor: Ms. Ronda Gabb This Course is designed to prepare students for the notarial exam scheduled for December 5, 2009. The course topics include: duties of a notary, contracts, juridical acts, donations and sales, wills, miscellaneous acts, and more. The course will begin on Tuesday evening, August 25th at 6:30pm. Classes will continue each Tuesday evening (6:30pm-9:00pm) until December 1, 2009. The exam will be given on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Registration for the course is $575. Books are approximately $250 and are in addition to the registration fee. Students are responsible for ordering their books prior to the beginning of class. Once registered, students will be sent information about ordering their books.
