Digital Media and Design
Spring 2011
Chuck Billiot is teaching 4 Digital Media and Design courses.
Beginning Digital Photography will cover the basic of digital photography and different between point and shoot vs. SLR. The course will also cover equipment settings, resolution, zoom, and white balance. Additionally, Mr. Billiot will cover print options, digital settings, loading images onto the computer, and uploading images to various web sites. Students will also be exposed to techniques, including lighting, natural posing, and composition (framing). The student should only need to know how to point and shoot. There are no prerequisites required for this course.
Class Date - Wednesday, 2/03/2011, 6pm - 9pm
Intermediate Digital Photography will build on the basics of composition, lighting, posing. It will cover camera and technical skills including how to adjust ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture (F-Stop) for different lighting conditions and how to shoot in manual mode with better results. In addition it will answer questions, such as: What is depth of field? How and when do I use fill flash?
Class Date - Wednesday, 2/10/2011, 6pm - 9pm
In Beginning Adobe Photoshop For Photography Students will learn:
- Setting up a work space.
- Using the Photoshop Browser.
- Explanation of basic tolls and filters
- Image Adjustmetns (Levels, Contrast, Color, etc.)
How to:
- Crop and Rotate
- Create Vignettes
- Eliminate dust and scratches
- Correct red eye defect in images.
- Perform image color correction.
- Convert color images to grayscale and add spot colors to them
- Basic Retouching
- Apply Basic Filters
- Use Adjustment Layers
Class Date - Wednesday, 2/17/2011, 6pm - 9pm
In Intermediate Adobe Photoshop For Photography Students will learn:
- Color Profiles
- Advanced Tools (Magic Wand, e.g.)
- Retouch and Restoration
- Advanced Filters (Liquify,e.g.)
- 3-D Text
- Using Multiple Adjustment Layers and Masks
