ACCRA Cost of Living Index Calculator

Thinking of relocating to Louisiana and want to see what your “equivalent” salary needs to be? Curious about how our local cost of living on the Northshore compares to other cities around the country? Southeastern’s Business Research Center, a data collector for C2ER’s ACCRA Cost of Living Index (COLI), has licensed the ACCRA COLI Calculator so you can make these comparisons at no charge!

Just input your after-tax income and the cities you would like to compare in the boxes below and click the “calculate” button. The calculator will display the income you need to earn in the Louisiana target city to maintain an equivalent standard of living, list the composite and category indexes, show percentage differences in five major categories between the selected areas, and then list an item-by-item price comparison of over 50 products and services. (Note: The “LA Hammond” option is based on prices for the Hammond Micropolitan Area (Tangipahoa Parish), and includes prices from Amite, Hammond, and Ponchatoula. The “LA Slidell” option represents all of St. Tammany Parish, and includes prices from Covington, Mandeville, and Slidell.)
