December 15, 2011 - Campus Budget Update
As you likely have seen in the media, the Louisiana Revenue Estimating Conference has recognized a $198 million shortfall in revenues, creating an imbalance in the State budget. It is expected that the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget will act this Friday to begin the process of reducing expenditures to bring the budget into balance as required by the Louisiana Constitution.
At this point, we do not have any indication of the amount of potential reduction, if any, for higher education and Southeastern. As always, when additional information becomes available, I will share that information with the campus.
