A Message from the President
April 23, 2010 - Retirement/Resignation Incentive Plan
We are continuing to implement a variety of budget reduction strategies that help position Southeastern to successfully weather current and anticipated budget uncertainties. One strategy authorized under University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors policy is a Voluntary Retirement/Resignation Incentive Plan for Tenured Faculty.
Our Human Resources Office has previously communicated with tenured faculty about the possibility of a retirement incentive plan being offered. With approval of the University of Louisiana System, early next week tenured faculty will receive formal notification about the Plan. Eligible tenured faculty will have a limited time period to respond, and the incentives will only be available to a limited number of individuals. Under the Plan, the priority for selecting tenured faculty to receive a retirement/resignation incentive is based on those earning the highest salaries relative to their peers at comparable institutions.
