A Message from the President
April 6, 2010 - Budget update to faculty and staff
Recent news reports have suggested that Southeastern and several other Louisiana universities are considering canceling summer sessions in response to possible further budget cuts in the current 2009-10 fiscal year. While this could be an action for a worst-case scenario, at this time we are not planning to cancel summer school. We are concerned that summer school cancellation might have a significant negative impact on our students’ progression and on 2010-11 academic year enrollment. Many Southeastern students attend summer school so they can graduate in a more timely manner.
As always, when additional budget details are available, I will share them with the
campus community.
John Crain, President
