Parking Rules and Regulations



University Police Uniform Shoulder PatchThe Parking Division of the University Police Department is responsible for registration of vehicles on campus, including motorized carts, and enforcing the University Traffic and Parking Regulations.

 

We employ three full time staff and a number of part time student employees whose duties include dispersing parking tags and decals, issuing citations, and special assignments.  We also offer information and maps to students and visitors.

 

Our direct line is 985-549-5695, and we are open from 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. If you need help after hours, during the weekend, or on a holiday, contact the Police Dispatcher at 985-549-2222.

 

VISITORS
All Visitors must obtain a temporary parking pass to park on campus.  These are available at the University Police Department and/or Parking Office 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays, and are at no cost to the visitor.
To obtain a Visitor Parking Pass:

1) Park in the "Visitor" parking area on SGA Drive near Pride Hall.
2) Enter the University Police Department with a valid picture ID and vehicle registration.
3) Follow the signs posted inside the building to the appropriate window.
4) Campus Maps are also available in the Parking Office.
5) Visitors receiving parking citations are should read the instrustions on the reverse side of the citation.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR A STUDENT REGISTERING A VEHICLE
1) Must be paid for on a fee invoice at the Controller's Office.
2) Must show a picture ID.
3) Must show a valid vehicle registration.
4) Must give your student (W) number.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR FACULTY/STAFF VEHICLE DECAL
1) Must show a faculty/staff ID.
2) Must show a valid vehicle registration.
3) Must give (W) number.
4) Must pay when picking up decal at parking window.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR FACULTY/STAFF HANG-TAG.
1) Must show a faculty/staff ID.
2) Must give (W) number.
3) Must pay when picking up hang-tag at parking window.
