A student reported being struck and his iPod stolen on North Oak Street near Mims Hall on Sunday, September 20, 2009, at approximatelt 8:50 PM.


The University Police Department is investigating a report of a robbery and battery of a student which occurred on North Oak Street at approximately 8:50 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2009.

 

The victim reported that while he was jogging along North Oak Street near Mims Hall an unidentified subject riding a black Schwinn bicycle approached him, dropped the bicycle, struck him with his fists, grabbed his iPod, and ran from the scene.  After a short chase, the suspect picked up a wooden stick, struck the student, and fled again.

 

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male in his late teens or early twenties with very short hair, approximately 6’ 2” tall with a muscular build.  At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white tank-top shirt and black shorts with red lines around the back pockets.
