Travel Information
International students requiring transportation to/from the New Olreans Airport should refer to the information below for transportation options.
Travel from New Orleans International Airport to Hammond:
Northshore Airport Express - provides shuttle service to/from the North Shore and the airport. Please contact for exact quotes of fares. ADVANCED RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Call 985-386-3861 for reservations or more information.
Amtrak - Union Station is located at 1001 Loyola Avenue. The phone number is 504-528-1610. Amtrak does not provide transporation from the airport. Passengers should use limousine, public bus, or taxi service to reach the station.
Jefferson Transit - This is the public bus system for Jefferson Parish. There is a bus route that goes from the airport to dowtown New Orleans near the Amtrak and Greyhound stations. For more information, click here.
Taxicabs - Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage. Please refer to the internet or yellow pages for a list of available taxi services in the Kenner/New Orleans area.

Travel from Hammond to New Orleans International Airport:
Northshore Airport Express - same information as above
Amtrak - The station is located at 404 NW Railroad Avenue. The phone number is 985-345-6264. The station is walking distance from the university, but passengers may require a short taxi ride if they will have baggage.
Hammond City Bus - Provided by General Public Transporation. The phone number is 985-748-6016. They offer transportation to and from various locations throughout the city, including the university and the Greyhound bus station. Please see the schedule below:
