A: Students at Southeastern come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.  Some enter college at Southeastern, while some transfer in from other colleges and universities.  Most students work at a paying job, and over 80% live off campus.   Over half of the entering freshmen receive a TOPS scholarship.  The average age of entering freshmen is 18.2 years old.  For more information, see:

A: Southeastern has students majoring in six colleges, 26 departments, and 52 undergraduate degree programs.  Some of the most popular undergraduate programs include Psychology, Criminal Justice, Accounting, Management, Elementary Education, Nursing, Kinesiology, and Biology.  For more information, see:

A: The majority of students are either satisfied or very satisfied with their educational experiences at Southeastern.  This satisfaction includes their classroom experiences as well as their feelings toward school facilities and available resources.  For more information, see:

 

Q: Do students participate in the Honors Program?

A: Southeastern students in every academic department participate in the Honors Program.  Consider what one recent graduate had to say about the Honors experience:  "Preparing and presenting the Honors Senior Thesis was quite an experience.  I enjoyed the research and was fortunate to have the opportunity to develop a working relationship with my supervising instructor."  For more information, see:

         

        Q: Do students participate in undergraduate research?

        A: Southeastern students enjoy the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with faculty on a variety of undergraduate research projects.  Over 75 students participated in undergraduate research during the 2006-2007 school year.  For more information, see:

         

        Q: Do students participate in Study Abroad?

        A: Many Southeastern students participate in the Study Abroad program each year.  In Summer 2008, approximately 150 students will travel to places like Spain to study everything from Elementary Spanish to Advanced Composition and Syntax.  They see historical landmarks, eat the local cuisine, talk with native speakers, and experience other cultures first-hand.  Sixty-Seven percent of study abroad students will receive scholarships from the Student Government Association to help defray study abroad expenses.  For more information, see:
